New Year, New Goals...Maybe!!!

Okay so a new year is approaching...quick!!! And as always people are going to start thinking of a new years resolution...including me!!! I've already thought of mine! In the past I've never really kept my new years resolution and at times I didn't even make one! But I thought what the hay I'll give it a shot, once again! I also figured if I publicly post it on my blog for the world to see maybe I'll feel more encouraged/obligated (lol) to keep up with it!!! So that being said here it goes:

1) No burgers and fries from fast food places!

2)No sodas...even diet!

3)Read my bible more!

Okay so there it goes!!! I know I can benefit from these so I pray I can stick to them, but only time will tell!!! I am however curious to know what your New Years Resolution is so don't be shy, drop a comment and let me know!!!

Tightest Squeeze

When someone you love such as your spouse, parent, or children are away for a while don't you find yourself missing the smallest things! When my husband is away I find myself missing the tight squeeze at the end of the hug!!! When he's not here I close my eyes and pretend to feel his arms around me squeezing me tight...its' my favorite part!!! It's in his embrace that I feel safe and loved!!! So I encourage you next time you hug someone give them the "tightest squeeze" ever!!!

We Need A Professional!!!

Today my oldest son Joshua was going to enjoy a bike ride with his cousin!!! They went out side and began to get ready! Then Joshua comes in and says "Mom there's something wrong with my bike!" So here I go to look at it, sure enough I'm going to require some tools!!! So In the midst of my attempt to fix the bike (by now I have unscrewed the chain cover and have it in my hand) Joshua says "We're gonna need a professional!" This sparked an interesting chain of events that are as follow:

Me: "Well your gonna have to settle for Mom" (in response to we need a professional)

Joshua: "Oh Jesus please help us Lord" (with his hands together, pretending to pray)

Me: I smacked him on the forehead!!!

Joshua: "MOM your not supposed to hit people while they're praying!"

Me: "Your not suppose to insult people while they're fixing things!!!"

Moral of the story: Mom's always right!!!!

P.R.L (prayer-request-live)

Have you been praying lately? I have! More then usual but that's ok I don't mind!!! Lately I have received quite few prayer request from family and loved ones, and to be honest I'm a bit honored!! Honored that they turn to me and trust me with their prayers!! I'm proud to be surrounded by people who aren't afraid to express their faith and love for the Lord!! If any one knows first hand its me that there is power in prayer!!! Discouraged? Pray! Confused? Pray! Happy? Still pray! It always seems to be the best solution in life!! I can't tell you how many praise reports or prayer request I get on a daily basis! And I'm glad because it shows God is good!!! But wait....it gets better!!! Sometimes I speak to my family/friends and they say "how are you? I've been praying for you!" How beautiful is that!!! Sometimes I'm feeling down and I don't even ask for prayers but people care enough to take the time and pray!!! What a blessing to be surrounded by people who care!!! Okay so what kind of post would this be if I didn't leave everyone with a personal prayer request: First PLEASE pray for my son Joshua that he has a better time adjusting to the third grade, that he focuses and pays attention in class! And for his teachers, that they are strengthen!!! Secondly PLEASE pray for my husband, that he has direction and clarity in his career! Don't stop here though...if you know someone is in need of prayer take a few minutes and pray for them!!! Its' the best gift you can give!!! God bless...I love you all!!! And thank you for your prayers!

Light of the world!!!

Does this ever happen to you? Your sitting there giving someone advise and then you hear yourself for a second and then it's like dang I need to that....I should take my own advice!!!! When a person comes to me and there experiencing hardships I always say...."There's a purpose....God always has a purpose, even though we don't know what it is yet!" I do truly believe this with all my heart....but in the midst of all the madness in my mind I sometimes forget it!!! God has a plan for all of us he knows what we'll face before we do and he knows why we'll experience the things we do!!! I sometimes find myself asking Lord what is the purpose of this....and I may not know it right away but I'm always able to look back and say "Lord I know what your purpose was!" Experiences like this always bring spiritual growth!!!

Jesus...it's me Jayden!!!

To all of my dear friends I speak to on a regular basis you already know this story but for those of you who haven't heard it...get ready this is too CUTE:I was shopping with my boys Joshua and Jayden and it had been a long day of back to school shopping...my patience were wearing thin and had been tested quite a few times by now!!! We had just left the one-millionth and final store for the day and I was putting Jayden in his car seat....well he decided he wasn't going to ride in it so he hopped out and said"mommy I'm sitting right here"to which I replied(looking up wailing my arms like a mad person): "JESUS help me to not hurt this child!!!!!And with the most sincere look Jayden asks "What did Jesus say?"trying not to laugh and in semi-shock I reply (with a delay of course): "Jesus said to hurt you!!"and in the cutest little whisper Jayden looked up and said "Jethus I thorry" (translation...Jesus I'm sorry)I thought that was the cutest thing ever....how could I stay mad then!!!! I planted a big kiss on his cheek and melted like putty.....he's too cute!!!!

Open Mouth.... Insert Foot

Funny thing happened the other night while I was in a defensive driving class!!! My instructor happened to also be a high school counselor so on a break we got into the topic of school and she was telling us how her son did not like math class, well I decided to weigh in with my two cents and I told the instructor..."Ya I always remember math teachers being the meanest" (something to that affect) as I said that I heard a quick and sarcastic "thank you" from the lady in front of me....OOOPS!!! I replied "I'm sorry are you a math teacher" with a slight giggle (I couldn't help it) and with a firm "YES" she turned back around...ouch!!! I don't think she was too thrilled, but I did think it was a bit funny!!!

Why is this happening?

Signs...do you believe in them? When the Lord blatantly puts a sign in front of you, and it tugs at your heart, do you go with your own instincts or do you surrender to what in your heart!!!! Here's a little story of my eventful weekend, that will give you some perspective on what I'm talking about!!! On Saturday my sister, myself, and our children were going to all pile up and take a two and half to three hour drive to go visit our father, who is currently incarcerated by the way!!! Well we had been cautiously planning this trip for weeks...weeks I tell ya!! And on Friday when I wen to go pick up the mini-van I rented a week ago I shortly realized I booked the wrong vehicle! What looked like a van in the picture on the computer turned out to be a dodge caliber (something like that) what can be most likely be compared to something the size of hmmmm....a grocery cart if you will!!! That was strike one!!! So I decided not to take the rental instead I had my mother ask my dear old grandmother if she would be willing to lend me her mini-van (duh why didn't I think of that first right). Grandma said yes and was more then willing, so that night I went to pick it up. I got into the drivers seat and turned the ignition..click, click, click...nothing!!! As you can imagine I was totally bummed but me being stubborn I gave it a third try and BINGO it started. As I drove home I wondered God are trying to tell me something, but I was determined to see my dad so I put it on the back burner. I decided it would be best for my sister and her little ones to spend the night to get an early start!!! Well at 2 am I hear a knock at my bedroom door and I was like wow my sisters on it she must really want to get a head start...not the case at all!!! It was my nephew telling me that Joshua was throwing up in his bed...I should have seen the warning lights flashing by now!!! So I cleaned him up went back to bed and 4am rolled around in no time, because it actually was in no time!! My sister and I were in the restroom doing our make up, by the time I began to do my hair, we start to wonder..."Should we even go? Is God telling us not to go?" "Nah"..we brushed it off and continued to get ready when all of a sudden I heard "Mmmoooommmm" followed by a barfing noise! Joshua was throwing up again!!! Finally at this point I considered not going!!! I was so determined to go i missed my dad he was expecting us and I wanted to follow through! But finally after "a minor disagreement" my sister convinced me to just stay..we didn't go!!! Man I was so bummed, I couldn't understand why this was happening!!!
We decided it would be best if we go Sunday morning, so we headed out and I must say it was a pleasant drive!!! We arrived and visited with dad, we missed him so much it just lit p my heart to see him!!! As we were talking to dad he mentioned that the day before (Saturday) my grandfather had gone to visit him!!! Maribel and I just looked at each other and smiled, that was the confirmation that the Lord was speaking to us telling us not to go!!! If we would had went we would not have been able to see my dad because he's only allowed one visit per day and my grandfather lives closer then we do, he would have made it there before us!!!
How good is God!!! I think there's been a few instances were we're put through trials and we don't understand why we're experiencing them, but God always has a purpose. I didn't understand why everything was going wrong, but all along it was the Lord making sure I didn't miss my chance to see my dad!! The Lord says " Cast your burdens on him, and he shall sustain you; he shall never permit the righteous to be moved (Psalm 55:22)!!! TYJ!!!

Change of Heart...

Has this ever happened to you?
This Saturday was pretty hectic...crazy if you will!!! And it only kept getting weirder!!! My son has a spiderish-bite looking thing on his abdomen and while playing out side it began to hurt, so he comes in side and says "mommy it hurts" so I look and it had popped! So I gently applied pressure, and it began to ooze (gross I know but stick with me it gets better) according to him it was too much he couldn't bear the pain and wanted "daddy" to come and look at it...well me knowing my husband as well as I do said "you want daddy to come and look at it...he's gonna squeeze it harder!" (I know my husband, he'll be like let get this sucker over with) Well in comes daddy and he kneel down and looks at it, turns to me and says "well mommy if it's hurting him you should really just leave it alone" The look of total shock and bewilderment slowly over came my face!!! WHAT...I was thinking to my self!!! That was only one of the many eventful scenarios of the day!!! Earlier in the day, I dropped in at my house to pick up a gift bag and my husband was hosting a small gathering for a few of his guy friends in our back yard...well my little one Jayden being the outdoorsmen that he is picked up on this quick!! I t first started with, I have to go ppppeeeeeee"(so much for me running in and out) So ok lets go potty, shortly after the potty it turned into....(in three year old talk if you will) "I no wanna go to birday party, I wanna stay my daddy backyar." After A few attempts to get him back into the truck and getting the same response I finally called my husband in to see that I wasn't making this up and to see if he could possibly get this child to get in the truck!! I say to my husband he doesn't want to go to the party he wants to stay with you...Jayden also confirms this for me in his sweetest daddy I love you voice, and once again to my dismay and utter shock my husbands says with the shrug of his shoulders, "Well if he wants to stay leave him!!!"
WOW...and to think you know a guy after being married to him for 6 and a half years!!! And so I think the change of heart is not so much my hubby but maybe more so myself...to start seeing him for the good, wonderful father and husband I've always known him to be!!! I love you honey...you truly are a blessing!!!

Starbucks and a mini van

Last night was quite eventful if I may say so myself!!! First it started it off with me attending our monthly-ish women's church meeting. I sat next to a near-and-dear friend of mine(you know who you are...the cream filling to my Oreo) I must say the class discussion was quite interesting. After class that dear friend of mine suggested we go to to Starbucks and hang out BUT I couldn't because I had my son with me and it was a school night. Getting into my truck I said what the hey I'll drop off my son and take her up on her offer...I called her and let her know...it was a done deal!!! I get to the Starbucks 20 mins. before closing time, by that time Bree and myself were wondering what are we gonna do now they're fixing to close!!! Bree, being the creative person I inspire her to be (lol) suggested, why don't we just go sit in my van and hang out...that's all it took for me!!! We stayed talking until like 1 o'clock in the morning (I may have done most of the talking) but I had such a great time! We talked about anything and everything and laughed like crazy!!! So this post is dedicated to dear friends who are willing to stay up, hang out till 1am and sip cinnamon dolce latte's in there mini-vans!!! Bree you ROCK...I had a great time!!!

Allow me to introduce myself…..

Hey guys!!! It finally came to be….this life loving girl who always has so much to say has finally decided to BLOG!!! What can she possibly have to say you might be wondering….anything and everything!!! Who’d a though!!! Any-who on with the important stuff!!! Here’s a little about me!!! I’m a pieces, I like long walks on the beech…just kidding!!! I am currently a full time wife and mother of two…ya basically a stay at home mom but I just made it sound fancier!!! And I am also a part time college student , which evidently I am very proud of because I can’t stop mentioning it when people ask what I do ( example: I got pulled over the other day for speeding and when the “nice” officer asked what my occupation was I simply replied, “Housewife…and oh yeah part time student,” like it was going to make a difference right)!! Okay moving on…I am very family oriented, my husband John and I have been married for 6 ½ years but we have been together for 10 years…that’s a whole other story (a good one of course)!!! And we have the two lovely children Joshua who is 7 and Jayden who just turned 3. I love to hang out with my family and friends!!! I am a middle child (I believe I suffer from “middle child syndrome” if you’re a middle child you van sympathize and know what I’m talking about…lol) I have an older sister and a younger brother!!! My parents separated when I was a young age…and I think I have an okay relationship with them!! I’ve lived in Pasadena my whole life with the exception of living in Corpus Christi, Dallas, and Brownsville for small amounts of time only to return back home!!! Now as an adult I live in Deer Park, TX, a dot on the map, and right next to Pasadena!!! And one more important thing before I go…about two years ago John and I faithfully turned our lives over to the Lord!!! We attend church and enjoy it for the most part!! But basically that’s me in a nut shell….I love the Lord, I love my family and I love my friends!!! Hope I didn’t bore you!!!
